5 Ways To Be “Successful”
5 Ways To Be “Successful”
In yet another weekly moment of discouragement?—? You guys, building a company is SO HARD , but so worth it.
I got this AWESOME epiphany on success. If you really want to do well at whatever goal you’ve set out for yourself, do these five things AND get excited for what’s to come because SUCCESS IS COMING!!!
5. HAVE A VISION
— something beautiful, glorious, exciting and worth pursuing
4. EMBRACE GOOD PAIN
— I think every founder should be physically fit. Primarily because I’m inspired by olympians and loved being captain of my highschool basketball team (I love the game), but also because you CAN’T WIN GOLD at anything if you don’t put in the birthgiving pain required to produce life! #metaphorsonFLEEK #ZORA #reading #theireyeswerewatchingGod #shouldhavereaditincollege #digress
3. HAVE A ROUTINE
— There IS ENOUGH TIME.
And honey if you’re struggling, you probably aren’t managing it well. * selah *
Time management is everything. There’s some crazy validating statistic ( which I chose not to search for because it would take up time I set aside for other stuff ) about the success rate of folks who write down their goals. Granted, writing down your goals doesn’t equal an automatic win, but it’s the foundation of what you manage your time and subsequent schedule/routine around. It’s how Katie Ledecky, Mike Phelps, Steph Curry, Robby Greenfield, Amina Yamusah, Denisha Kuhlor, and Ofo Ezeugwu (shout out to the Olympic, NBA and Student Dream community) do what they do.
2. WHO ARE YOUR FRIENDS ???
Success is not a solo sport. You don’t have to be lonely at the top. We were made to enjoy and thrive off the encouragement, wisdom and rebuke of our friends.
Have you ever experienced that amazing feeling of fearlessly keeping it all the way 100 with another person?
I’m so grateful for people like Tawana, Dottie, Nicole and Monique who I can be completely real with. Some are in my field, some aren’t but they remind me of my wins, hold me accountable and inspire me to step my game up. WHO ARE YOUR FRIENDS?
1. *DO NOT QUIT. OH, DON’T QUIT. PLEASE DON’T QUIT. DON’T DO IT .
“Oh my gosh!” So many people quit! It’s really sad. Good thing you’re a victor…
The biggest thing I’ve learned about success these last two years as Founder and President of this off the charts, mega, amazing company (you better know your worth) # StudentDream, is that perseverance is EVERYTHING. Winners don’t quit. You can’t win if you quit. So don’t. Yes things get extremely difficult in so many ways, but it’s all apart of the process. high risk, high reward. No pain. No gain. I don’t care how corny cynics may say it sounds but this is reality. IF IT’S WORTH IT DON’T QUIT.
*I mean of course you need to be sure that what you’re doing is beneficial and valuable. If it’s something stupid quit. But it’s not don’t
